I ran my car at the Omega No Fly Zone today and had a blast. It was hot as well and my IAT's were were definitely on the warm side. My first run out was 152mph (with a passenger), I was happy with it but obviously wanted more. My last run by myself was 156. Overall with the weather I am very happy.


Car mods:
Ecs blower with restrictor plate in it
Full three inch exhaust
1 7/8 kooks headers

I will post slips later and some videos. Go pro died half way through the day apparently it didn't charge last night

I raced a challenger srt8 he had 540whp on his window he started further back and had more of a run (problem with the event they aren't really regulated) still chased him down.

Car made 511whp and 508tq without a full exhaust. Last time it was on the dyno it had factory manifolds, factory cats and factory ti Z06 exhaust. There is a clone here in az on the exact setup I have but with full exhaust (1 3/4 headers and 2.5 inch axle back) he made 552whp and I have 1 7/8 headers and 3inch axle back. So I am guessing 55xwhp somewhere in that area.

They are so much fun! I just did one with Omega when they came to the midwest. You had good MPH for your power and conditions. Did you stay in 4th? Like the Red

I have a bit more power than you and I was pretty deep into 5th. I did have a 5-10 mph head wind but temp was good. I will certainly do another one. Best runs were 164 with a passenger and 168 solo.

The pictures of your car confused me. I trailed my car there I am a red c5 with black c6 z06 wheels hahaha I looked at your pic and thought it was my car for a second.

There was a Porsche that ran 205 at the event I was at. To be honest I have been to all three event they have had in Gila Bend and to be honest I was disappointed with this event.

I hit the limiter 2 times at the end of the run in 4th..... I tried to grab 5th one run and it wasn't worth the gear change that close to the end. Next mods for me are I am going to take the restrictor plate out, switch of to a speed density tune and add meth. I could have gotten more out of the car I think it was just so damn hot. Timing was being pulled and my IAT's were hot.

Damn that was a close race I thought the ZR1 had you but that's awesome. We were all doing rolling starts at the event here.

Haha what can I say your car looks great LS2 GTO owner. Yea so many factors with the speed...power, gear ratio, tire size etc.

If you have a bit more power you will be into 5th sooner or if you run a taller tire you can stay in 4th longer. You run with a 305/35/19 Nt05R as well?

The way Shift Sector is set up is that from where i started to the end is an official 1/2 mile.... From the cones its like .48 of a mile

You also running the lg big 3? Looks like it but can't confirm if so your tips look like they have downs just like mine do haha

I sold my GTO a couple years back. I wish I never did. It was a stock bottom end heads,cam,fast intake 3.91 gears and full exhaust along with other suspension mod.

The exhaust is actually the Huron Speed XSP 2.5 cat back with Bellanger Tri-Y headers. I really should update the headers and catback but a pulley swap is way cheaper lol.

Wow....My 04 6 speed GTO is a Heads/Cam/Fast/full exhaust/391 gear/ minor suspension mods car.....

Nice looking garage! Wish I still had my GTO. Thought about buying another but couldn't go through all the stuff I did with mine just to make another like it.

Good numbers. I have couple of questions---
1. How big was your rear?
2. At the trap (finish line) had you run out of acceleration
or did you have more??
How hard was the wind blowing and in what direction??

1.do you mean rear tire? 305/35/19
2. The car was still pulling strong and doing well but obviously ran out of real estate.
3. The wind was very calm all day no real major head or tail wind. To give you an idea the easy up was up all day long without any sort of restraint to the ground.
