Would a 2.84/1.56 planet fix blowing the tires off?

Well the new trans does indeed start in 2nd, but you guys knew that, I'm not sure why with my original trans this did not work? The shift points were reprogrammed for the rear end by a hypertech hand held tuner, not sure if that had anything to do with it but it always started in first even in 2. I would almost bet a paycheck on it! Am I

Waiting for TurboGeist to come in and say, "Well if you weren't running such a cheap *** boost controller"....

I kinda don't think so, but wouldn't say no without trying it. The selling points are softer launch in 1st, and less bog into 2nd. Neither of which I have trouble with. Maybe a 1st gear that pulls 90mph would be nice.

mine gets loose in 2nd if the track is not prepped good too, but i think what saves me is that my shift points are too soon @ 6k rpm.. and im only making 600 hp

My buddy tried one 2nd gear launch and the trans broke right there off the line.
Maybe just coincidence ??

I dunno. If I remember right was a level 5 or 7 build with few if any runs on it.
Maybe he will chime in here.

That would definitely suck. I have a new wide carbon band, just put in this year. Hopefully it would take a few hits. The one I had before made some high speed runs with WOT shifting into OD, and had pretty good burn marks as a result. The band is used for 2nd and OD.

Chris, did you try the short shifting into 2nd? I have the same problem with blowing the tires on the 1-2 shift. Just wondering if you have overcome this problem yet.

Damn that sounded horrible. I assume the band let go or do you know?

I haven't done anything yet, jut planning for the next season. That video sure doesn't inspire confidence.

Or stick with a 6-speed, grab 4th gear, and try for an 8 second pass. Drive home in 6th gear and then try it again the next season without rebuilding the transmission.

not sure what let go but I tell you it was a lot more than clutch packs....shaft snapped broke case ...track guys were very unhappy with the mess...and it was a level 5
short shifting helps but personally I believe stand alone ecu gives us so much more control than what we currently have
