Default rear tire size? RPM lv 6 with 3.70 rear A&A V3 Si 580/521 HP/TQ

I just got home from RPM transmission today, they installed there level 6 tranny, 3.70 gears in my Z06 diff. and Vigilante TQ conv. Was a fun ride home, except there is some squeaking going on with the tire rotation that was never there before. It increased and decreased directly with the tire speed. Wondering if something isn't seated right in the diff. or gears are just mating themselves? Any thoughts on that would be welcome as well.

Anyway I am running Nitto NT 555 295 /45R18 in the rear, which is a 28.3" tire. Was thinking of going back down to around 27.5" Looking for your guys experience here. Which will get me more in the sweet spot, the 27.5" or the 28.5" range?
This question is for the street tires only, as I have a set of Mickey Thompson ET Street R P305/45R18 which are 28.8" tall which are good for the track and the 3.70 gears but I wouldn't want to drive on the street with them all the time.

Thanks!

Thats a tall *** tire for a steeet Vette. My old 345/35/18 Pilot sports rubbed like a bit (h until I got a good alignment. Might give that a shot as well.

You may be correct but he could also pull each side and see if it is the rubbing of tire to someplace in the rubber fender wells. It may be hitting now on his brake duck work since it is a z06. If it is this it will bub a hole into the plastic parts really fast... Robert

Its not a Z06, the vents are fake, lol. Thats a supercharged emblem on the side. Im actually going back down to a 27.28" NT 05 back tire. I'll save the 28.8" tires for the strip since Im now regeared in the back with 3.70's.

I have a very similar setup, 2000 auto, v3si, 3.70, and a vigilante, making 550rwhp. Im running 305/35/19 Nitto NTO5r(27.44 diam)with great results on the street and at the strip. As others have metioned the 28" is a tall tire! I think you will be happy stepping down to the 27" tires.
