Spring rating????
Had a conversation about max valve spring lift . Advertisement says max lift on a .600 rated spring. Can you use a .600 lift cam??? My friend said that's not true. You need to leave about .030 to .060 space to avoid bottoming the spring out. Is this true? If it is, isn't that false advertisement??? Just curious.
P.S. Or is it compensated in the max spring lift already, so it doesn't bind????

You need to look at the installed height vs the coil bind height. You don't want to be too close to coil bind or have a spring with more pressure than you need. I would want to use the spring with the least amount of seat pressure as possible.
BTR .660" springs have an installed height of 1.78" and coil bind at 1.070". That's .710" and are advertised at .660" so there's .050" cushion.
