Default I got my 8's first time out w/ new setup

Well after tons of work & money finally got my C5 back to the track after 4 years.....

First Test & tune day was Saturday and made 4 passes, ended up

1.39 60'
5.76 @ 124 1/8th mile
8.93 @ 157 1/4 mile

It has a weird porposing or jumping back and forth at the hit and needs some suspension work but other than that it ran great.

It still has some left in it as well, shifted early, no 2 step yet, leaving at a dead idle, and only turning it to 6500 - looking for 5.60's/8.80's

Pretty cool I think for a street car with A/C, power steering, mufflers etc still

Yes, details would be wonderful. I'd like to get my car running about like yours is and knowing what it takes to get there is invaluable information to me.

thanks guys, I have to give some credit to algZ06, 4Drush, Arun and several others advice over the last couple of years but details are

AES in Chicago 408 6.0L iron block, LSA heads, Holley hi-ram, ID1700's, Squash custom triple intank 450L pump (early style tanks too!) FTI triple disk converter, RPM 4l60 trans and diff w/ ECS spool and 3.42 gears. E85, YSI 10 rib setup from A&A - I'm sure I'm forgetting some other stuff but that most of it

I went to little car show the other day & they snapped a few pics of my car I found

Congrats! I know you've been through a lot with that car. I'm thrilled that you have finally made it to the track and got your first 8 second slip.

And the car looks great too.

It sounds like such a simple setup(easy to say that I know) which is awesome(going 8s and knocking on the door of 160plus)!

c5mtl, I can't remember are you still IRS? if so do you have coilovers or still the transverse leaf? like I mentioned before I've got this weird porpusing back and forth and it unloads the tires but I've only got QA1 single adjustables all 4 corners, I figured before I blow a bunch more money on suspension stuff I needed to figure out how bad it was on the previous setup.

ha ha ha yeah the streets is pretty much a disaster, even driving slow in town and everyone stops and looks or pulls over thinking something is wrong cuz the BOV is so loud it sounds like a jet airplane and is almost as loud - I haven't even tried the actual street tires on it yet, it blows off the 14.5 QTP's at any speed.
