Default Crap. Noises...

So a little background. Car was running great last weekend. I put it away Sunday and then went to start it last night in hopes of driving it today. Heard a weird noise as it cranked but the battery was low and thought possibly it was just struggling to turn over.

Once running this is what it sounds like

I thought maybe a stuck lifter so I let the oil get to around 125 degrees no real change. This vette is all a recent build mileage wise and I was daily driving it.

I pulled the VC last night for a quick look and didn't notice anything glaring. Pretty sure it's a top end sound.

Any pointers here? It always consumes my thoughts when my cars have a problem so it's a brain storming act at this point.

IMO that aint a top end noise, sounds too fast.

What was last usage ? normal easy driving or driving hard ?

Oddly....was a post on YB recently with a quieter but similar sound and it turned out to be a broken flex plate.

How does it change with rpm ? same or any change ?

I dont drive it very hard...I did some highway pulls Saturday and then drove it to church on Sunday, easy.

Then started it and bam...here we are. I am sort of suspecting wrist pin issues at this point. I am trying to decide what to do here. New build or just unload the car.

I haven't owned it long. Built LS2 APS twin turbo meth, etc. Good safe tune. I've only put maybe 1500 miles on it since I bought it, and most of the mileage was just daily commute. Maybe something wasn't quite right when the motor was built.

Still sounds very fast for a single piston noise, but it really needs to come apart.

That sucks, especially on startup. Pull the valve covers and check the rockers? Check the plugs?

You could remove each plug wire until you isolate the bad one.

That's how I pinpointed my rod knocking, but it didn't knock until warmed up. Another guess is a head gasket leaked and hydro locked a cylinder, then when you started it something broke. Time to open it up.
