Default Boosted Cam Question

I am wondering how well my current cam will work with a pair of Precision 6766 CEAs .96 A/R. Was originally specced for NA + spray.

I don't have an issue with getting a new cam if I need it, but since the cam only has 1 summer on it if I can keep it I would like to lol.

Engine - 402 LS2 CNC LS3 heads, 11.07 c/r

12.5* of overlap seems like a lot to me but I am no expert on that. I have always heard that less overlap is better for turbo cars.

I'd be more concerned about the CR than the cam.

They're decent sized turbos, backpressure probably wont be any concern so the cam not that big a deal although something a little milder may well be better.

Quite a spread on the duration. Plus that much duration on the exhaust side is probably not optimal for turbo applications.Lift, LSA and advance is good.
What sort of cranking pressure are you getting? The CR is pretty high but the duration may bleed some of that off.
How much boost are you planning?

the new head gaskets are dropping compression from 11.5 - 11.07 so that will help some. I will be running e85 this fall after I move from NC to WI. Heard back from BTR they said it wouldn't be ideal, but it would work. Will probably get a new one. how much boost i dunno, I have a target hp in mind of 1,000 - 1,100whp so what ever it takes to get there, but I don't see it being much more than 15psi.

Cranking compression is going to change, I have fairly big ring gaps as I had it set up for a 400 shot lol. Going to put new rings in it with a much smaller gap.

big ring gaps never hurt anything.

If you're going in that far, I'd sooner go for a lower CR than just new rings ( ie new pistons )

Otherwise I wouldnt have touched the bottom end. That's a huge amount of work for a really unnecessarily change with the rings.

if I go new pistons, i would want to go to an iron block....if running e85 doesn't do the trick with the 11.07 c/r it would be far easier to swap the heads. My GMPP CNC LS3 heads have been milled from 70cc to 62.5 cc to keep the compression up since it was a NA build originally.
