Why did you coat the back of the valve face? It's not a friction area...

Just curious.

Honestly I don't have a million dollar answer for that, I'm sure there is some reason for it... That's just the way the valve manufacturers do it though, that is Victory's process. If I had to guess I would say it offers further wear protection for the valve rubbing against the seat because the DLC coating is very hard and titanium is not.

it will easily be capable of making that power, on paper at least. I have no intentions of ever making more than 1400 though.

He might make 1500 BHP if he's lucky and steps up his fuel and fuel system game. His engine builder has to keep him under control otherwise he will want to put wings on this thing and lift off. :-)

I think it's the other way around! I want to keep the power conservative, it's others that want to see it run full tilt! And it already has wings! Lol

Complete fuel system overhaul will happen this winter, it's got enough right now to make 1200-1250 on pump/meth but I have no intentions of taking it off the 10lb gates till spring.

As far as the engine dyno offer goes, the offer is greatly appreciated but the time crunch won't allow it. Keep up the great work Mike! Can't wait to see that masterpiece. Between you and your crew as well as Halston @ H-Squared, this is gonna be one nasty engine.

Great build man! I'm the first to buy 6870's for a C5 build that I'm aware of and you're going to be the first to make a hit with a pair of them. I'm hoping to get back on my build in October. You're making me jealous in the meantime.

You were definitely the pioneer when it came to those turbos, the only reason I went with those is because I knew that was what you were going to run and if they were good enough for you, they are good enough for me!!

This build isn't even in the same realm as coolness as yours is, your car is going to be a absolute no expense spared beast! Get back to work on that thing! I want to see some BIG numbers!!!!

Quick look at the 6 bolt head clearance issue. I knew about this going into it so it was not a suprise. Should be resolved by tomorrow.
