Another Huron Speed Twin Turbo Build!

Nice, look forward to the higher boost pulls. Why not run a boost controller at this point as it should build boost a bit faster than just changing springs?

Cause im a cheap ***....
Honestly it comes down to the fact that I don't know what I want to do with the car yet. Do I want to spend $850 on a good boost controller like the Plex PBC Pro or do I want to spend $2000+ on a aftermarket ECU...
For right now its just about making some power and seeing what the turd can do and changing the gate springs takes 30 mins so its not bad. Eventually, no matter what route I take it will be set up with C02 so that I can start with very low gate pressure but make whatever I want. Much better for ramping in power while maintaining traction in my opinion.

I get you as I am the king of cheap, but I just used a ball and spring manual controller on mine that I had laying around from another car. I have a bleed valve laying around you could use if you wanted, it's going to respond a bit slower than a ball and spring, but not big deal. I have 7 psi springs and was able to run up to 19psi and we stopped at that point to keep my little peanut engine together . Now for traction reasons I would probably step up to something a little more complicated, but as you said at some point one needs to look at aftermarket ECU's.

Amazing build TT. Looks like your having fun now.
Regarding your future plans, use the Haltech ECU and an air compressor/boost solenoid setup. Boost control is an amazing thing. I can't wait to get to the point your at now!

Safety Car
So the results.. Last night we dialed the car in at 801/780 @ 10psi on 93/Meth and the car performed flawlessly. At first I was a little disappointed with the numbers coming from a 1000whp YSI setup but then my brain caught up and realized that not only is this a 9.3:1 comp engine, but it's also only at 10psi vs the previous setup at 21. Based on that, it's making killer power...

Thanks for the offer but I will pass on that.
Its probably gonna end up with the PLEX PBC Pro that runs off the OBDII/CanBus. Does Boost by Speed and Gear and allows you to set boost cuts based on EGT, Wideband A/F, and/or anything else that can be monitored through the OBDII port. Very simple unit that does a ton of stuff.
That or its getting a Dominator (Your installing one, get us a good write up!!) / Haltech in the future...
For right now, to get some numbers, gate springs will do!!

Some updated parts...
Downpipes modified.. Wastegate dump to the downpipes has been eliminated. Gates will now dump to atmosphere. This frees up some space and I believe will be more efficient.
New charge pipes made from aluminum vs stainless. Jon @ Huron Speed had these made at my request as the ones supplied were designed around the ls1/6 intake and TB and were not long enough as the LS7 intake and TB is significantly shorter. I had to lengthen the original charge pipe to make it work for my application temporarily. Mind you this would not have been needed on a stock C5 intake/TB setup.

Well we hit the rollers again tonight. The current clutch just can't take the power, the three year old Mantic twin gave up! This first pull was at 18psi and still pretty fat. As as soon as we leaned it up the engine blew through the clutch as soon as the turbos spooled. I firmly believe this would have made north of 1100whp once dialed in at 18psi. I am currently working with Mantic on a quad disk so bigger numbers are in the near future!
