Default Ysi Restrictor Plate?

Hey there guys, I was wondering where I could get a restrictor for my Ysi. I'm at 18-19psi and was thinking of bringing it down to 15psi or so for the street just to be on the safer side. My tune is good but I figure it'll less stresson the motor too. Would this be ideal for what I want? I was thinking of a bigger pulley but I don't wanna under spin the blower and make it lazy.

I'm in the same boat for wanting to push around 10-12lbs.

ECS uses a lot of restrictor plates. I would call them.

You realize that are your asking for is a piece of sheet metal, aluminum or steel that has a hole in it. Instead of the 3.75in opening you have, it has a 2.5inch or whatever you want.. there is no way to say..this will make Xx psi, 100%

the restrictor isn't there to adjust the boost the system makes. It is there to reduce the amount of air going into the engine.

For practical purposes its the same thing and yes it is used to restrict the boost that can be made on a given system.

I wouldn't try to restrict your blower if it's making that much boost. I think putting a larger diameter blower pulley on would serve you better in this instance. The folks at ECS can assist you.

Agree'd, restrictor plates work great on lower boosted cars, but once you are that high in boost then the IAT's will be way too high after restricting.

I thought 18 psi was low boost?

I was kinda thinking about doing this to my little D1SC. Its a bit lazy till the higher rpms with the new longer trans gears and IAT's are within 8 of ambient now so I figured I'd give it a shot and switch to 100 meth while I'm at it to further help cool if needed (50/50 now mainly for safety)

It does make 15Psi now tho but needs to drop from a 4.25 down to a 3.6 to hit the recommended D1 impeller speed max ( I have a 8.10 Balancer) 20ish psi unrestricted would be my guess?

I know the correct answer is build a bigger fuel system, pulley down, and let it eat but I was curious how the restrictor would work.

A local shop was putting a wastegate on their systems to calm down heavy hitters.

I wonder how this would work on a smaller blower.
