Default What is the BEST Water Pump for use with A&A 8-rib setup?

What is the best water pump to run with an A&A 8-rib setup?

I have searched and haven't come to a conclusive answer.

I just lost the water pump pulley from my AC Delco pump. It had about 3k miles on it. The pulley came off the pump shaft where it is pressed on.

Running a T-Trim pretty hard on close to the latest revision A&A setup. It does not have the latest A&A HD Tensioner. I have the Innovators West 8-rib setup on a forged motor. Does NOT have a flip-drive.

I have read about people welding the pulley on a stock pump. But are there other options like an Edelbrock or something similar? I don't really want to run an electric pump, and it has to work with my setup.

The car has had some cooling issues in traffic with the A/C on only in 95 degree weather. So I think I will be upgrading the OEM radiator to something like a DeWitts.

Just looking for some opinions about what to run.

LS6 and weld it...or LS2 if you need the clearance for a TB.

I run a GM OEM ordered ls6 and had the pulley welded on. my old setup was starting to push my stock unwelded pulley in on the shaft.

note the c5 pumps are different than the c6. be sure to use micrometer to measure the old pump and new one to make sure no alignment issues from change in thickness of the pump.

Just ordered an OEM LS6 pump and will have it welded. Good point on the measurement, I had to mill down the tensioner mounting boss on the OEM pump that is on the car now. It about was about a 1/2 rib taller than the original pump and threw the bracket out of whack when first bolted up. Everything else was the same and it would have been fine if the car wasn't S/C.

Will go ahead and install a DeWitts radiator when it's apart.

Thanks again.

Oem here. I also went with a direct drive from A&A recently. That helps take the load off of components such as the water pump.

Have you seen how much of the belt touches the water pump pulley with a direct drive? Looks like a lot less load on the pump to me.

I run a prw performance water pump. Hardened internals and the pulley is bolt on. All for less than $400
