Thanks guys for the info and the reviews! Regarding the nittos, I have seen the nt05r and the nt05. One tends to have more of the street tire look and may be better if you get caught in the rain. Do they both hook just as good, or is the nt05r the better one to have with it looking more like a drag tire?

the nt05r is a drag radial version of the nt05, that's what I would get if I were in your shoes... most of the guys in this section only drive these cars in good weather and if you fall into that category I wouldn't worry about the wet traction so much... if you do happen to get caught they will still be fine in normal to moderate rain as long as you don't drive like a fool

X2

600rwhp and running the NT05R's. I have 18" NT05's up front and 19" NT05R's in rear, really like the combo.

You are running the 275/40-18 nt05 up front? traction control is happy?

Thx

BTW good prices at onlinetire.com but $100 shipping. $850 for front and rear plus shipping

The rears are 35 series, so they'll work fine.

I run a 275/40/18 front. Front is cheap Sumitomo ZIII but it works great. rear is the NT05R 305/35/19 no issues with TC/AH

I was shocked at how well a 305/35/19 R888 worked on highway rolls from 65 mph.... I mean they still spun but....Manageable... And you can still rip through the twisties and drive in the rain.

If it still spins from a 65 roll, how would that be better? Are you talking about a 700+ HP car? In any event, I never drive the car in the rain, mostly because it rarely rains here.

When I'm looking for a good 19" tire, I always purchase an 18" tire.

I've got a staggered setup, which IMO looks better, and they're iForge Aeros, which I love, so... BTW, I don't race, but would like to be able to give it more than 1/4 throttle in the lower gears.
