Th400 swap parts? Looking to do it myself
Well guys my clutch isn't holding my cam only setup anymore.. I drive the car hard and at this point I am just ready to put a stout auto in it and call it a day.
I understand from my research that the trans tunnel will need to be cut and re worked, I am okay with that. The problem I am having is finding how to adapt the trans to the torque tube and to the rear end.
Is there anyone out there that has adapter plates for this?? I need help guys I would like to get this done over winter.. It would be real nice if someone had a DIY package for this swap. Hint hint RPM? ECS?
Any thoughts? Help much appreciated
Oh and a picture for fun😊

it takes a LOT of custom parts. custom bellhousing, custom converter, custom tailshaft housing, custom output shaft.....
The only company offering this is RPM, and between the TH400 and 9" you are looking at almost 12k in parts.

I would consider this.. I don't care for electronic trans though and I have heard the stories of people having to refresh the 4l60 a lot. I would rather do it right the first time and have a trans to hold 1000rwhp (one day) but as mentioned above 12k $ in parts? I might as well build a entire different car

You will likely spend more then $12k in parts to do a full tilt T400 swap... Hell you'll spend $10K+ to do a 4l60 swap with all of the good stuff...
But I understand your rationale for wanting to do it right the first time...
A glide will go in easier, less cutting on the floor board etc... Still big bucks though.
I did the 4l60 swap and I have been very happy... Although getting the torque converter stalled right takes a few attempts.

A couple other things to consider with a TH400 swap.
You lose the emer brake. Probably the center console too. You might be able to keep the console if you're careful in your tunnel modification.
You'll have to install a shifter that won't likely fit very well with the way the oem shifter is mounted.
4L80 is an option too.
A heads/cam 346 will be just fine with a 4L60.
