Default Thinking of E85 and some moreboost and timing

So the Vette is no longer my DD and Im thinking I might turn up the juice a bit. I know Im close to the power limit for my block at 600RWHP and was wondering if E85 would increase that limit safely. Im running 7.5 psi at 12* on an APS TT. If I run the E85 could I kick the boost up to say 10-12 and run some more timing safely or is the stock block still my week link.

I'm curious when you say you know you are close to the power limit for your block. What would you say the limit is?

600RWHP seems a little high for only 7.5psi. What does the combo run at the track?

Either way, I wouldn't hesitate the turn the car up to 10 or 12 psi. I would be concerned with looking at your fuel system and evaluating whether or not it is up to the task of providing enough fuel for E85. Also, how are you planning to adjust for ethanol content or if you need to run 93 octane fuel?

Made about 800rwhp on a stock block, so I don't think you have to worry about the integrity of that. E85 will help keep things a little cool but, unless you go to a different ecm, or an aftermarket, you'll have to be on E85 all the time.

I have always heard ls1/6 blocks start to get stressed at 500/600 mark. It's also had a cam dynoes 608 on 15* and it was turned down to 12* and now makes 585 It's not a track car but the one time I went it went 12.2 at 127mph. I had to let out in first. Lots of driver error. As for the fuel system I think it's a stock pump with 60lb injectors and a BAP. I believe the car is very safe now and I'd like to keep it relatively safe. I don't like the idea of a meth dependent set up. And based on a Google search E85 is all over my area.

If you change to e85, you will have to do a fuel system. E85 takes more fuel than gasoline. If you add meth, you might get away with leaving your fuel system alone.

5/600 shouldnt come anywhere close to troubling any of the engine blocks.

add E85 and go for it. stock block isn't as fragile as the old school claims, let the boost do the work. and keep the timing conservative

Once you hit 800 then you can start worry about stuff may start breaking. But if me on E-85 I would go with bigger pump and also bigger lines to feed it. The E-85 takes much more fuel to feed the motor.
