Dumping exhaust before rear end on TT
I'm about to install my UPP TT kit and trying to figure out an exhaust I have been thinking about just getting some 3in pipe and dumping before the rear end has anyone done this? And if I do and then later on if I extend it to the back of the vehicle will I need to check the tune again?

Frans C6Z I'm 98% sure dumps his exhaust about where the back of the seats would be on his red procharged RPM shop car

i don't know about on c6 but i had turndowns on an old nitrous mustang and the fumes in the car in slow traffic and drone on the freeway was terrible. it was like 2x louder with turndowns vs. when I ran the exhaust out the back later. matters not at all on racecar but for street car i personally didn't like it on that setup

Drones the same maybe a tad better vs my b&b bullets, It's loud as **** honestly tho. It's definitely something that will **** the neighbors off.
Only reasons mines off is because of my c6 rear end, I'll be putting it back on in the spring

For any real amount of street driving I'd send it right out the back. Its going to stink in the cabin and you'll be def by the time you get to where you're going. Just an FYI, I run 3 inch into a custom set of borla mufflers on my setup. I also had a set of delete pipes made to get rid of the mufflers thinking they'd be a restriction. Turns out they aren't, same power, same ET/MPH.
With the straight pipes installed (no cats either) its actually very quiet at cruising speed as they exit in the stock location. On the outside of the car however, its a bit noisy.

not a whole lot of selections for the C5, LG and stainless works, plus a few others.
I'm going with a c6 and modifying the rear package tray.
Got a great deal on the OBX setup, and I can sell the 2.5 system I have now.

Don't waste your time looking at muffle shops. If you want quality work, go to a quality place. Find a reputable chassis/fab shop and go from there. Don't be afraid to travel a little bit for the right work.
I don't want to hear "there's no one local" type stuff. You're talking about a TT Corvette...you're on a different level from the "local guys" now. I live 30 miles out to sea on an island. I have to take the car on a boat 2.5 hours, then drive another hour just to get to my chassis guy, and or tuner's shops.

This is my setup with HPP kit similar to UPP. The noise isn't so bad. I am currently change the downpipe to exit on the front fenders where the turbos are.
