Default 125 Shot, Not enough fuel.

1999 FRC

"Returnless" fuel system with a Racetronix 255lph Fuel Pump.

PRC Stg 2.5 LS6 Heads
MS4 Cam
+supporting mods & bolt ons

makes 420whp N/A

Recently with a 125 shot it seems fuel pressure drops and car runs dangerously lean.

Dyno sheet below.

Red was .025 fuel jet
Blue was .029 fuel jet

im going to install the Racetronix direct to alternator power wire and re-assess, next would be to add a boost-a-pump.

other idea is just to go dedicated fuel system for the spray.

i figured the Racetronix 255 would be enough alone.

any other ideas?

Wire upgrade will help a good bit, give that a shot for a quick and easy fix. If not up to par still I would go dedicated fuel system. Much safer and easier to fine tune!

I'm in the same boat. 436 NA and even on a 100 shot there is a slight lean condition right after activation like its sucking the rail dry for a mill a second. Tuner says is safe with the stock pump and a BAP but those are known to fail from time to time. I am going to go with a stand alone system. I figure its a win/win. Move the battery to the trunk and plenty of fuel pressure.

Just got to pay off Christmas first lol.

When it comes to running a dedicated fuel system there are a few benefits to doing so. One benefit is to supply the fuel solenoid with its own fuel supply thus reducing the strain of the pump when pulling off the fuel rail as you are doing so now. The second benefit of using a dedicated fuel supply it allows you to use a higher quality fuel such as C16/Q16. Higher octane fuel allows you to reduce the chance of detonation, increase ignition timing slightly that will directly result in increased horsepower, torque and MPH in the 1/8 and 1/4 mile. We do offer a dedicated that doesn't require you to remove your battery and relocate it. Third benefit is you can switch the fuel supply over to a low pressure fuel system. When using for example 55psi as the fuel system is now when it comes to adjust fuel you have to change jets. On a low pressure setting 5,7,10 psi you can make 1/4lb fuel increment adjustments to richen or lean the fuel supply out if overly rich without having to change jets. I agree that a dedicated fuel system is the way to go. I recommend the Nitrous Outlet one as well. It's a very nice kit and easy to install.
