Default Vortec

Hi, I know I'm in the wrong section, but there aren't hardly any supercharged C3s, so I thought I'd pick your brains. Mine is a 6t8 gen 1 sbc that I recently installed a Vortec supercharger. It's a runner but I have a few issues to clear up.. This entire project was all customizing work, no kits are available. What I need to source out is the pipe from the charger to the carb. This is where I need your help. Thanks T

You'll just make your own. Then you'll need a coupler with a step down probably. No intercooler huh, e85?

I figured I'd be making the tube, but It needs to be aluminum, blow off valve has AL mounting. As far as the inter cooler goes, that is on the back burner. Haven't had much seat time do to building this and would really like to drive it. Any ideas were to find 3"OD AL tubing and mandrel bends?
Thanks T
I'm so old school, E85???? LOL

ebay actually has some great deals on the tubing. Just put 3-inch Aluminum Pipe in the search. E85 is ethanol fuel..

Yes, it's the most expensive carb I ever bought. Had a few problems until I increased the return line from #6 to #10. The engine runs good. The blower discharge tube keeps coming apart at the carb intake. 2 1/2" pipe to 3"coupler required a bushing. Then I can proceed to get the timing curve right. Will probably have to do that on a dyno. Need to use laptop reset MSD box. So many variables, I'm so confused, LOL. T

I've got a buddy not far from Wisconsin that I'm sure could fab you something up. If I had time, I'd offer to do it but I'm under the gun, trying to get a motor ready for a dyno session out of state. Send me a PM and I'll get you in touch with him.

Cool. I Figured you were New to FI and wanted to make sure your carb was setup right before you went any further. If you could find a 2 1/2-3" reducer you could probably weld that on instead of making an entire new pipe or get hooked up with Brett's guy. Please let us know if you run into anymore problems and keep us updated on your build.

Another one of the little issues I'm having is that the hood needs to be forced to close. It's rubbing at the blower out port coupler. Tried clocking, need about another 3/16 of clearance. Since I can't lower the engine, I thought I'd raise the body. I ordered a new set of body mounts and some shims. The Ford GT40 sits at 40" in height. The 6t8 sits at 42 1/2' to top of windshield so en extra 3/16 really won't matter and if the wheel clearance looks to excessive, the car has the VPB dual mount spring package, which can adjusted to lower the chassis. So it's a good thing it's winter, gots alotta work to do. T
