Default Supercharged 02-04 C5 transmission options

Looking to buy and build me a fun supercharged C5. I would like a 02-04 Red base with an auto trans. I live in Cali so keeping it legal and shooting for about 500-550 rwhp is my goal. What should be my transmission and rear-end options?

There are companies out there who build 4l65s now. RPM has like a stage 9 or something and say its good for 1000 hp. A 4l80 requires cutting your torq tube tunnel to make it fit. If you are keeping it around 500 to 550 you probably don't need meth. Yes meth would safer and check with whoever you end up buying your kit from. A&A, ECS, Procharger etc.

RPM Transmissions has a Level X that's worked in near 1200 RWHP applications but you don't need that. I had a Level V in my car when I bought it making 660 RWHP. It had been in there since 2008 and I bought it in December 2015. Now, the car had not been drag raced and when I started drag racing it, the 3-4 clutch pack failed pretty quickly. A Level VI or especially a Level VII will live a long and happy life at your intended power level. Call RPM and talk to them about it. They have what you need for sure. Jeremy or Shane will most likely answer the phone.

Meth sounds good, have used it before. RPM... heard of them, reputation very good. So the rear end will be fine?

We had a stock dif in the car when we bought it but only launched it a few times before switching out to a Level IV dif. I'd say 500-550 horsepower at the tires is at least at if not beyond the point at which the stock dif is going to give up the ghost. If you're at the track launching with drag radials with a big stall, I'd bet the stock dif has a short lifespan. There was no meth injection on the car when we bought it but it's a nice feature that gives you a lot of margin for error on the tune with pump gas.
