After burning up several 3/4 clutch packs on my RPM Level 7, I upgraded to the Sonnax smart drum that is the key to the Level X. The drum design is so superior I have confidence it will last longer, but only have 1 season on it. Planning to push well over 1000. I've seen claims the drum mod is capable of holding 1500rwhp, but didn't say how long. It's the best available, so I'll live with it. Other trans options are just too much $$$ for me right now.

I've got a level 10 and I held up just fine to a 8.8@157 pass and shifted fine....unfortunately I fried the clutch packs due to tuning error ....changed clutches and now gonna try it at over 1100rwhp.....level 10 or level 100 they will all need clutches sooner or later. At this hp level consider it maintenance

My 4L65E was built by a friend who has been doing it for many years and he used the Sonnax Smart Input drum as well. The car has been putting down close to 900rwhp with no issues. I recommend a quality lockup converter like a Circle D and the biggest cooler you can fit.

Thanks guys I was wondering if I should just buy a c6 with a 6l80 since everyone saying there going 8s on stock trans. Wonder what's stronger 6l80 or built 4l60?

Level X from RPM you will love in the car. Key on it is making sure also the trans level to correct.
The guys at RPM is the only way to go on these cars. Rodney & Todd are great. I will say here the shop is better on help after the sale as when you are buying the item at purchase.Robert

Level X RPM is certainly the way to go with 1000 or more RWHP but I just bought two sets of tires from a gentleman (Eric Fox) making over 1000 to the tires in his C5 Vette and races it regularly and his Level VII RPM hasn't failed him. Yet. We're stepping up to ~1000 RWHP for now and am going to keep the Level VII until it fails and then upgrade to Level X all from RPM when either it dies or we step up the power substantially. We're fairly light now so I hope that helps.

Here's where I found the 1500hp claim. If it's not true we will riot haha. Adding the url for info, but you'll have to copy/paste since they don't like links to non sponsors here.

it hasn't been on the dyno with the latest setup. its a basic forged 365, 220 TFS heads worked over by Tooley, Tooley cam, FTI stall, 3.42s, on a 275 pro. best time in 5000' DA is 8.84@154. she's a heavy girl, nothing taken out plus a 6 point, amps, blower, ect. Last time i weighed her she was almost 3700.

i run a ysi-b. i was having some belt slip issues so i only saw 15 psi on that run. all belt issues have been resolved since then. i took it to houston and in -1100 da i saw 30 psi, that's when the stock ls2 intake blew to pieces.

HOLY CRAP! -1100 DA, 30 PSI. I hate to think how much it was making at that instant but I know it's so far beyond 1100 at the tires that you can't see that marker from where you were at. 1300? 1400? Neither seems out of line given what you just said. Well done, Sir. Well done. I'm going to have the LS3 style Mamo ported FAST 102 LSXR installed before we shoot for any real numbers. Hopefully it won't go BOOM!. I only want around 1100 to the tires until I get a 6 bolt motor done.
