Default How High Would You Rev This Setup?

Hey Guys,

I have my rev limiter set at the stock LS6 limit. I feel like I am leaving power on the table with my setup and wondering what you would put your rev limit at if you were in my shoes? I just got the car all finished and have less than a 1,000 miles on the built engine. Details:

UPP Kit running 7psi
Built LS6
CP Rods/Pistons
ARP Everything (main bolts, rod bolts, head studs)
LS7 Lifters
BTR .660 Dual Valve Springs
BTR Push Rods
BTR Stage 2 TT Cam
Trunion Upgrade
C5R Timing Chain
LS9 Head Gasket
Melling High Volume Pump

Thanks!

I would set the limiter just past peak power. Where is peak power?

Go to a dyno - stop guessing.

What everyone else says throw it on the dyno see where the peak power is and set it there there is no point in spinning the motor higher than it needs to be.

7000 rpm would be just fine.

If you're good with Matlab you can actually calculate when to change gears. Of course dyno graph required.

Thanks for the replies guys. I will get it on a dyno and see where Im at.

So to anybody with a similar setup: where do you make your peak hp? What do you spin your motor to?

Thanks

I think there are really two answers to that question
one is what the best shift point would be and the other is for durability reasons.
You might have the most efficient shift point at one RPM but you dont really want that to be where you are on the rev limiter- I think the ET will suffer
Regarding engine RPM limit/durability, again, two answers: at what point is the valvetrain becoming unstable? [cam dynamics/springs play a big role] And then the bottom end where ^ RPM = more stress
