LS1 ATI SC bends the dyno rollers at 561.3 RWHP with early shutdown
A&A Corvette and Halltech Systems dyno the ATI Supercharged LS1 at 561.3 RWHP/ @ 6078 RPM and 485.0 ft. lbs torque. The rev limiter is set at 6800 RPM, but we did this pull without the customer present, so protocol dictated that we not go to redline without his permission. That was 660 HP with 800 RPM to go! Talk about a monster! This beast was making 466.7 RWHP and torque at the HP/Torque 5250 crossover, and gained almost 100 RWHP from 5250 to 6078 RPM. This car could easily make well over 620 RWHP. The customer can take it up that high.
Andy and Jim now have the facility to dyno tune all C5s on a SuperFlow Load Dyno, for perfect tuning. Andy does the superchargers and custom heads and cam, Jim does the programming and tuning. We have a Z06 going on the dyno tomorrow, that should make bigger numbers. Jim is on his way to Michigan to meet with Katech's VP to get a twin turbo short block program going, which will allow extreme boost levels for the LS1 or Z06 (Turbo or Supercharged).
Halltech's Twin Turbo-R project, smoked another stock LS6 engine, running nearly 14 lbs boost and over 700 RWHP.. We fractured the ring lands of two stock pistons (cast), so the next logical step is to "bulletproof" the bottom end with a Katech C5R crank, rods and billet main caps. Katech Pistons will be dished for 9:1 static compression, and will be made of bulletproof 2618T6 forged aluminum. ARP studs will bring strength to the program, with ported heads, and a mild Competition Cam. 1000 HP will be the result at 18-20 PSI Boost.

Good Lord, that's pretty! You should get a clear hood for that sucker. I guess I'm gonna have to start saving harder.

Great job Andy & Jim!
I am waiting for Nate @ Xtreme to ship me the ATI 8-rib set-up and as soon as I get it I want to get the newest programming version Jim came up with.

Jim, that is the most beautiful thing I have seen yet under the hood of a vette! Wow! How much is that kit running?

Re: LS1 ATI SC bends the dyno rollers at 561.3 RWHP with early shutdown (C5-VERT)
We have spent the last 8 months trying to tame this beast, but the twin turbo trimming (T3/T04B) is not content at less than 10 PSI. Most of the time we were running close to 15 PSI. The limit? Turbonetics estimates around 22 PSI from this setup, but as you can see, the twins break stock motors, with impunity.
I have one of the fractured pistons, that I will be delivering to Fritz Kale of Katech, to get their expertise on building the Katech/Halltech short block. This will be a challange, even for them, since my requirements far exceed their C5R race program.
We will be O-ringing the cases and using a special head gasket. The ARP studs will be set in case with heli-coils to prevent pulling the threads out. We'll have all blocks hot-honed with torque plates, and utilize 2618 T6 forged pistons, either Callies or Moldex forged billet cranks, and Carrillo H-beam rods. I am also going through their GEN III engine building seminar. They have not built many forced induction motors, but the Katech's 25 year reputation and facility, is second to none.
As soon as we get this project underway, I will get back on the forum and quote pricing. We are shooting for around $30,000 turn key 1000 HP. The tranny and rear end may limit that level to under 900 HP.
This Pro-Street version of our Turbo will only be available with the Katech short block.
One more thing. Our setup will allow very sane streetable boost at around 10 PSI, but onboard boost controls will allow a second stage Hi-Boost for instant 20 PSI boost levels for racing. FROM THE DRIVERS SEAT!
Buy the 2003 C5 coupe or convertible with an automatic. My understanding is they are testing the new C6 600 ft. lb. auto this year in the 2003s. My source was pretty good.

I'm confused now... is this a post for a twin turbocharged C5 or a supercharged C5? The post title says ATI SC, but are you talking about a twin turbo setup? Which one put down the 561.3 RWHP?

those are awesome numbers....seems like the s/c cars put out better power than the turbo cars....on low boost that is....
