Magnuson Intercooler Information
I was at the SEMA show in Las Vegas and spent a few minutes at the Magnason booth. They had a C5/Z06 inter-cooled blower on display. I snapped a few pics of the fittings for the water. The manifold is NO higher the current therefore no new hood. The reservoir will be located above the battery. The pump will be located up front, as will be the heat exchanger, near/in front of the radiator. I also noticed that the fitting for a boost gauge has been move toward the rear (see pic below)
If you already have Magnacharger as I have and are looking for upgrade, they quoted $1750 for POLISHED and if I remember correctly it was $1575 for satin. These price includes shipping both ways. After you order upgrade they send you container to ship yours to them, they upgrade and return. I have no idea if that price will stay the same when available after 1st of the year.

Thanks for the info, this can't happen soon enough. Man, between the intercooled Mag and the new AFR heads coming out I've got to get cranking on some overtime at work.

Thanks for the info.
The price on the upgrade is interesting in that it's a bigger difference than the price between the intercooled and non-intercooled kit. I guess those of us that went first get to do a little subsidizing. :nopity

I was at SEMA also and talked with one of the guys at this site. The reason that everything is no taller is because they totally compromised and lowered the intake in order to keep the overall height the same. This compromises runner size and flow. Granted it looks very nice but for my money the compromises are not worth it. Just my opinion. I'm sure I'll get flamed. :smash:

NO flame here but just my opinion too...
I would rather have the cooler intake air temps over the lengthened runner. With cooler air I can turn up boost to overcome manifold design inefficiency. Almost everything in life is some kind of compromise...
I hope to try it out ASAP and get some real results!!!!

Also with forcen induction I am not sure that the runner length is quite as important as lowering the potential for detonation and rasing the boost pressure to make even more HP... Interesting though becasue since it still will not fit under the stock hood why change it, you still have to get a different hood. Which BTW I like and have the LPE hood.

It was my understanding that if they kept the current manifold setup and added the intercooler it would double the height of the manifold or almost double and you'd need a periscope to drive.

Re: Magnuson Intercooler Information (boblackhardtop)
Believe me that is would not necessarily be a problem, since the boost is instant and actually loosing some bottom end is probably not a bad thing if adds to the top end, the car is already traction limited in 1 and 2nd becasue of the tremendous bottom end torque and intstant throttle response. Where it could use more HP is in the upper RPM band to match the centrifical S/C's
