Hi Forum members.
This is a quote from the LUK catalog
"Fits 1997-'04 Corvette. This Stage 2 Performance Clutch is designed for owners with modified cars pushing as much as 575 ft. lbs. of torque or more. With the addition of the lightweight flywheel and torque capabilities of the clutch, you will increase hp/torque while at the same time transfer all this harnessed power to the ground leading to an unbelievable driving experience. It has been field tested in both moderate and extreme conditions (withstanding repeated 4000rpm launches without failure). This balanced kit includes a specially designed lightweight Fidanza aluminum flywheel, pressure plate, disc, release bearing, pilot bearing, and alignment tool.
If you have a 97-2001, it is recommend you install the 2002 Z06 clutch slave and master cylinder.
$750 plus shipping. Call us if you need more information. Also if you are in the Sacramento area, we can perform the installation for your C5.
Thanks for the support. Mark, Terry and Philip

If you really read the LUK site it really says "575hp of torque", so go figure that one out. The LUK is rated at 15% more holding power than the Z06. This is the only clutch Mallet uses.

I have also heard you can squeeze a bit more clamping force out of any LUK by using the adjusting tabs.

You must do the adjustment on the pressure plate when installing the LUK or it will clamp like the stock unit. You can do the adjustment with the clutch in the car. The first LUK we did, noone knew about the pressure plate adjustment. This was on a 02 Z06 pulling about 425rwhp. It started to slip in third gear. We adjusted the pressure plate, which made the pedal feel about 20% stiffer. No slippage after that.
