Top Rubbing - fixed!!!
I have a 2001 Vert and there was a place on the middle, right, back area where the top was starting to rub. I have read a lot of threads here on how to adjust the top and about replacement of the weather strip.
Well, I ordered the replacement weather strip weeks ago, but was in no hurry because I assumed that there would be a lot of adjusting needed after I replaced the weather strip. There is even one GM bulletin that talks about if the adjustments do not work, put a board with a towel covering it and under the place to be adjusted and bend it.
So finally this weekend I went ahead and replaced the weather strip (02-08-111-01 gives the part number as 10319827.).
Well it is now fixed, not even close to rubbing, no adjustment needed. Mine may have been the exception, but if you have a 97-2001 Vert with a rubbing issue, I would replace the weather strip first. Here is the thread that gives all the info you need for replacement and adjusting. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=967846 (thanks GTZY) and http://www.c5forum.com/cgi-bin/ultim...13.html#000000
