C5 related - New Supercar?
Has anyone seen this?
This car will use the C5 drive train, suspension components and most of the running gear.
Its done by Factory Five and they have some pretty good info on it at their web page. It is supposed to be less than 20k for the kit.
Looks pretty awesome to me...trackday car here we come...

I like the lines....wish they had one painted instead of that black primer. Torch Red or M-Yellow would be nice

Why do they make all these kick-*** headlight set-ups for these prototypes but nobody will bother to make anything good for our existing C5's?????? There are over 250,000 C5's, you would think someone (other than Specter Werkes) would jump all over this.

Man, that thing is low unless the guy kneeling next to it is 7' tall. Cool looking, but too bad they didn't use the stock chasis with engine in front.

The GTM is not bad. Its a good price point but its my understanding that you have to own another Factory Five car in order to get it. Its not a bad looking car, doesnt do that much for me though.
Its still a kit car now matter how you look at it.

I remember seeing an ad in a magazine about this Kit. I remember it was around 20K and all you needed was a C5 to complete the install. I thought when I first saw it that it was a fiberglass only kit which didn't require any mechanical modifications which is not the case here... (rear engine??)

I have seen this car on another forum! I think it's a cool concept!

It's supposedly going to be around $24k plus engine. It's designed to mate with the Porsche transmission for a mid engine setup. Basically a C5 Z06 stripped and ready for the track. I don't think they plan on having a nice interior for it like the Noble or any of those other kit cars. No A/C. Just a track car that's streetable. That's just what I've read up on it a couple of months ago. A lot might have changed since.
I heard they were going to do some more work on the looks of the rear. Don't know if it's true or not.

Looks like they are reshaping that ugly rear. This from their website
"There was no expectation that we would get any high speed testing done as this is too soon for that, besides, the entire rear tail section of the car is being re-shaped and that wasn’t the goal of the day.
Major work remains in the shaping of the new rear-end clip, the roll-up windows, dash and door liners, as well as small tooling and jigs for the chassis and sub-assembly."
Could be a winner but where are you going to get a decently priced "doner" C5??? If it's a crash write off - the suspension will be thrashed. If it's a high mileage beater, the engine will be trashed.
Thoughts?
