Default Powder Coating rotor hats?

I am debating on powdercoating some rotor hats and was wondering if you could spray the whole rotor like you would with spray paint, and the excess be scraped off during braking, or would it be best to mask the area. Just wondering, as I now have a powder coat machine and oven.

And then do it again when you get new rotors? Why dont you buy the powder coated hub covers from ecklers? You could even re-powder coat them the color of your choice if you want?

Greg, or forum name (gst20psi). I now am using the carbon fiber blackouts which I also like.

Mask the braking surface and let the powdercoat cover the hat, the edges of the rotors and inside the veins to reduce chances of rust and add to the looks.
