Default Smoothline Hardtop

Does anyone have any experience with a Smoothline Hardtop for the C 5? How was the fit and finsih of the top? Are there any adjustment concerns? Does it rub on the rear deck causing paint issues? How do you store the top when not in use?

Thanks

I looked at the pics of that top with a thought of getting one for my black vert but I personally did'nt like the rear window and rear quarter section just behind the side glass. Kinda looked a bit out of shape when I studied it. JMPO

I'm not sure how many different brands there are out there but though pricey, the Caravaggio top has the look I'm looking for.

Shoulda bought a few used ones when I came across them.

I've got one in Black vinyl, check the sig. Back window is about the same size as the vert's...too small. But with the "bubbles" from the Pace Car Deck Lid, the blind spot is there anyway. Installation requires 2 brackets to be mounted in the trapdoor right behind the seatbelt housing. J-hooks in the top will catch those and tighten down. I've made a rack similar to that found in Eckler's catalog for storage. I can handle the top solo but it's very bulky and almost 50 lbs. The only spoy where it has rubbed the finish is where the seam in the vinyl is at the back and that was my fault when removing the top. It doesn't contact the paint at all otherwise. Now I slide a towel under that point before trying to lift it. No more probs.

Caravaggio has the Z06 look, no issues but pricey. I had to install weather striping at the base to keep it from touch the paint, small adjustment. Stores easy and simple to install and remove. Two people can do it in a few seconds.

Thanks for the replies.

Wallstal, What type of hoist/harness are you using to store your hardtop?

Just a pulley from Home Depot I think and some boat cover straps I had in the garage.

The front attaches the same way as the convertible top. The rear attaches with side snap latches, see below.
