Default Fe3 and z51 question

I've read some where that the FE3 and the Z51 are different from eachother. I have a 2000 FRC with the FE3 code and no Z51 code...so does that mean I don't have the z51? I was always under the impression that the FE3 included the z51 package and that all FRCs had the Z51.

Here's where I got the information from:

Well - according to this page it states on the FE3 option that it is a part of the Z51 package.

http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/.../2000prod.html

According to the Corvette Black Book - all Hardtops (another term for the FRC) included the 6 speed manual and the Z51 suspension.

According to this page also - FE3 is included with the Z51....

http://www.idavette.net/facts/2000.htm

Take a look at this page under Standard Features it states that the Z51 Sport Suspension is standard on the hardtop.

http://www.idavette.net/facts/ps2000.htm

Check out this web page and it states also that the FE3 is part of the Z51

http://home.fuse.net/corvette/rpo.htm

I'd say thats four sources all stating Z51 is standard on the FRC - that's good enough for me!

Technically Z51 is the RPO# for the Performance Handling Package which consists of the RPO# FE3 Sport Suspension and a power steering cooler:

Chevrolet Corvette C5 RPO Code List

Our '03 vert has the Z51 package and both RPO numbers (Z51 & FE3) show on our car's RPO label and build sheet.

For the Z51 option, you will see the long black rectangular power steering cooler on the passenger side of the engine compartment, just behind the right (passenger) side cooling fan.

Hope this helps.
