Default Optima Battery QUestion

I am going to purchase a new Optima battery and was wondering if it hurts the battery to ground the top post down flat. I have my overflow bottle for my supercharger that sits on top of the battery and dont want it to stick up. Also what color one do I need when I have a monster stereo system? Thanks for the help.

If you buy a 34/78 Red Top you can buy a flat top cover for it and then you don't need to grind the top post down flat.

For cars with monster stereo equipment, they recommend the yellow top.

OK so it looks like I am going with the yellow top, but does anyone know if it hurts the battery to grind down the top post? I cant use the cover they sell because it makes the battery 1 1/2 inch taller than stock and it wont be deep enough for the Magnacharger overflow bottle.

Don't grind them down...use a hacksaw, the posts are soft amd cut very easily.

And no, it won't hurt the battery.
