Default Rain water in front floorboard?

Well its been raining off and on over here for days now. I went out to the car the other morning and it smelled really bad like mildew. Come to find out my front passenger floorboard was soaking wet. I have heard that there is a drain for the rain water where the hood closes. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how did they fix it. Can i get to that drain on top or do i have to get under the car? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

My 2000 FRC is doing the same thing.... I've been thinking about getting a tube of clear silicone and going to town on the passenger side door hinge but I can't bring myself to it just yet....I usually just drive the Ol' truck in the rain but sometimes I enjoy driving the vette in the rain....

Have you used your A/C lately? Do a search for a/c vent clogged or plugged and see what you find. I know there is a pic of the tube somewhere I think on the passenger side down under. If you are sure it's rainwater then sorry.....just trying to get you some info.

Default Water

Had the same thing happen to me on Brand New 04. Took the Dealer about 8 hrs. to find the leak.Mine was somewhere on the firewall up behind the dash. Tech said it had something to do with the way the Unibody (I Think)was Glued or Welded together and one small spot was missed. I had the car several months before this happened, so I guess it can start at any time. If you park the car with the front sloping down it should help a little until you get it fixed. You may have to remove your carpet and run water hose on windshield until you can see the leak. Hope this Helps and Good Luck.

Reach right next to the drivers side of the engine, the "utter" is right there. The screen from the wiper deck is where the water comes in and drains out through that utter. Squeeze it and stick your pinky finger in it to clean it out, thats how I do it anyway.

Is there any pics of this? Is it under the hood or under the passenger side dash? thanks

There are a few, the other side is hard to get, I got them from under the car with a long thin screwdriver

Default Udders

I don't know how the perfectly useful "udder", (as in milk cow teat), got changed to "utter" on this forum. Apparently all the farm boys are all gone. It's UDDERS, guys and gals, UDDERS. Ask any Hereford or Guernsey out in the pasture, Holsteins, too. LOL!

The area you need to look at is under the wifer cowl vents where part of the fiberglass is probably cracked and thats how it might be getting in. Common problem.

Don't know if your problem is rain water or AC condensor run off but here's a thread with some pix for the AC water problem.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...um_id=1&arch=1

Scroll down to CF member Bill Curlee's post for pix.

It might not be the probelm you are experiencing but this is a common problem with the AC drain hose being plugged.

Good luck resolving this issue.
