Default North Georgia Mountains

Headed there this weekend. Anyone know any good Vette roads or driving tours there? Thanks and Helen, Ga. will be home base.

Last year I drove from Braselton primarily on SR 53/60 through the Chattahoochee Nat'l Forest to Blue Ridge and back to Atlanta on SR 5/515/575. SR 60 was scenic and twisty....fun time! That route would be just west of Helen.

Wouldn't it be great if there was an annual Corvette Weekend in Helen, like the ones in Eureka Springs and Hot Springs, Ark.!! Hint, Hint, hint Georgia clubs.... Helen is a great place to vacation, and Corvette activities would make it even better.

Thanks for the comments, any others welcomed. I've got hwy 53 & 60 already highlighted. Yes, it would be great for a Vette gathering in Helen or The Highlands in NC or thereabouts. What about it Peach State Possie?

Yes, but it is ab out 30 miles from north Georgia. Go northward to the Tail of the Dragon and the Cherohala Skyway. Beautufil scenery and wonderful twisty roads. Worth every minute.

Do the infamous Dragon if you can. It is an experience you will never forget.

I don't know of any. Regretfully, I haven't driven up there in years.

But I bet if you post the question at the Peach State Posse, you'll get a ton of answers.

I go to Helen about once a year. Have a cousin that lives there. In December last year we made the trip and went to Brasstown Bald Park. Absolutely beautiful. From Helen, I think it is 75 north to 180 west or you can take scenic 348 west to 180 east. Also great to visit with great roads is tallulah falls on the east of Helen. Further away than Brasstown I think. It is on 441. High Shoals Falls and Horse Trough Falls also are very scenic drives and are close to Brasstown. The whole area is wonderful for driving the vette. PM me if you I can help with more specific info.
