Default C5 hartdop question

Howdy from a C3 forum regular. I have a Q on a C5 hardtop I saw today. I know all Z06's were hardtops and I thought all hardtops were Z06's. What's throwing me off is I saw a C5 hardtop today with the standard chrome 5 spoke wheels and no Z06 badges. It was definitely a 6 spd. I realize the owner might be just trying to be stealth. Just curious. BTW, one day my 79 will be able to outrun your C5's,

1999 and 2000 brought us the first of the hardtops. 2001 brought us the awesome power and handling of the first of the Z06's.

I think the early C5 "hardtops" were the predecessor of the now known Z06. The designation for these is FRC, or fixed roof coupe.

Love the look of the roof line on the FRC's.

The 99 and 00 Fixed Roof Coupes were only available with the MN6 manual trans. If the wheels you saw were bright thin-spoke versions (they were polished from the factory as an option but chrome was an aftermarket feature) it was a 2000 car.

That is pretty sweet. I remember seeing a company that sells a hardtop for convertibles - I just about wet myself when I saw the price tag on that bad boy.

terlox, it looked just like that with those wheels except chrome. Oh and BTW, I noticed no one commented on my slow 79 being able to one day outrun a C5. It will take a lot of work to get mine to that point!
