Default Rare Color Combo

I want to know how rare are these colors in a C5 Convt.?

1.Black w/ red with black top
2.Triple white
3.Electron blue w/ white with white top
4.Silver w/ firethorn red with black top
5.Navy blue w/ tan with tan top
6.Burgandy w/ tan with tan top
7.White w/ firethorn red with black top
8.Pewter w/ tan with tan top
9.Yellow w/ tan with tan top
10. White w/ black with white top

I'm looking to buy a '98-'00 Convt. C5 with auto with no more than 25K miles for around $21K-$24K. The car must be in excellent condition. I don't want to sell my 30th T.A. ( I only have 20K miles on it!)

You may have a hard time finding a vert with that low of miles for that price without doing some traveling. On secon thought, you probably can find a '98 for your higher end of that price range. I had to pay 10 grand more than that for my 02 with 20k miles 1 year ago.. BTW, I have number 6 on your list, which would actually be called magnetic red, and I've seen a lot of that color combo.

unless 'burgandy' is medium metalic purple there were only 381 made in 1998 - so about half of those are Verts - very rare indeed and well over a 24K ceiling - i met two guys at each paid round 30 -32 for theirs last last year... good luck

I have seen non-verts go for the high end of that scale with nearly double the mileage on them. Sometimes a little more depending on how there are optioned.

Here is one that is not on your chart at all, and I have not seen a vert like it on this forum. I can't say for sure but I would imagine it's a fairly rare combo.

Another possibility that you could do is buy a vette with the correct exterior color and change the interior parts to you liking for around 5-6 grand. You wouldn't have to pay the premium for a rare color combo such as you want, and you could customize it all! Just a thought...

Triple white would be rare as 93 was the last year of the white interior

I have the same interior and the outside is Magnetic Red. Not many were made in Y2K

Default Rare color combo

I forgot to mention these other color combos in a C5:
1.Yellow w/ black with white top
2.Nassau blue w/ light oak top
3.White w/black with black top

Does anyone stay in the Chicago area that can take a look at a C5 for me? The dealership website is www.odgenchevy.com and they have a '98 red w/ tan auto C5 w/ 28K miles w/ removeable glass roof, wide
chrome 5 bar wheels w/ brand new tires for 21K or 22K. They say it's a one owner and it's in excellent shape. I live on the Mississippi River and it borders between Illinois and Iowa. (Quad Cities) I'm about 3.5 hours away from the dealership and I won't be able to get up there to see it until next weekend for the Chicago Auto show at the Mccormick Place on Lakeshore Dr. I just need to have someone take a look at it that has alot of knowledge in a C5. I really love the LS-1 Camaro SS, the WS-6 T.A., and the SLP Firehawks but I'm ready to go to that other level of pedigree, quality, performance, and value in a the C5 Coupe or Convt. Thanks alot!

Default Rare color combo

I wouldn't modify the C5 corvette at all because it's a car that needs not to be modified interior or exterior wise. All you need is the chrome Y2k wheels if it didn't come with it. The ZO6 wheels on a non ZO6 C5 just isn't my taste. Just my 2 cent! Just keep it waxed, tires shined up, wheels are sparkling and underhood engine is so clean that you can eat off of it. That's just how I keep all of my cars....Real clean!

it's not impossible to find a rare color in a vert with less than 25k miles, it may be a little higher than $24000.00 though.

My friend bought a Fairway green convertible with oak top and interior for $27000.00, it had less than 25k miles on it.

there were only 60 '98 convertibles painted this color.

The down side was we had to go from NJ to Oklahoma to get it, but it was a GREAT ride back home!

just checkout a corvette black book.

there's a ton of info in there.

the C5 registry also has a lot of info on their web site.
