Rear differential installation in ST. Louis, MO.
I am finally going to bite the bullet and make the move from 2.73's to 3.42's with an A4. Looking for a good place around St. Louis Missouri that can install the gears. Anybody have any suggestions or ideas? Also what should I expect to pay?

Oak and I have done atleast 3 different differentials and are pretty good at it. Never done this for money though. Expect to pay any where from $350 to $500 for a differential install.

I hear from reliable folks here that Bill at Elco Chevrolet in Ballwin is the man to see. He does all their heavy duty Vette work. Call and talk to him. He'll work with you. I haven't had anything done to my C6 yet, but I've talked to Bill and he seems to know his stuff.

Sounds like a good lead. I will give him a call and see what he says. I know Elco sells a lot of Corvettes. Thank you. Anybody else got any good leads to look into?

Bill is the man for any Vette work in the St. Louis area. He does some stuff on the side and is great. He put my cam in and other stuff and is very meticulous with his work.

I had Bill put the 3.42 rear end in, unfortunately he had to switch it back to the 2.73 rear because the 3.42 rear was making so much noise. Bill was excellent to work with and did a great job for me. Now I am trying to do this again with a brand new rear, but have not been able to get Bill to return any of my calls. Anybody heard from him lately? I am looking to have this done again and wanted to use Bill.

Be patient. Try calling again. He is sometimes hard to get ahold of, but well worth the effort. Just keep trying. He has done all of my work (and its been alot), he is the best hands down!!!!!!!

I am hoping to find out one day myself. Everything I have read seems to point to the 3.42 gear ratio being the way to go with an A4.
