Hard to read your image.........
Do you have an Automatic or Manual transmission? If you have a Manual then the only gears that came from the factory are 3:42.
If you have a Automatic then I belive the G92 is the 3:15 and the GU2 is the 2:73.

No such thing as 3.56 in a C5.

of course...if you didn't buy it new, you can always slide under the rear of the car and check out what is stamped on the GETRAG tag on the transaxle (passenger side near the top at the back). My glovebox says I have 2.73's...I actually have 3.42's.

You can also look on the rear differential. There should be a tag on it which gives the gear ratio.

Failing all of those - with an A4 put it in 3rd gear, take it up to 75mph. The tach will read 3150 if you have the 3.15, 2730 if you have the 2.73. Works with an MN6 or MN12 in a Z06 too if you shift into 4th gear. It will read 3420 for a 3.42.
The idea is to shift into the gear that is a 1:1 ratio.
The problem with the other techniques is if the rear end was changed - it certainly won't agree with the RPO sticker on the glove box door, and it might not agree with the tag on the outside of the case.
