Default Oil Analysis

Just got my Oil Analysis back from my 95,517 mile oil change. Went 5,773 miles on this oil, took it down to 1% remaining on DIC (1998 C5's use 10,000 miles as maximum as opposed to newer C5's 15,000 mile maximum).

Here is what Blackstone Labs says, "You ran this oil almost as long as the last, and wear stayed about the same. Universal
averages show typical wear from this type of engine after 4200 miles on the oil. You're running more
miles than that and still getting average wear, which is great. The TBN read 2.5, on the low side but still
showing active additive remaining. A reading of 1.0 or lower is too low. The oil was in good shape
physically, containing no moisture, fuel, or coolant. The air and oil filters are working well too. Looks
great! We see no signs this engine is slowing down at 95,517 miles."

I use DELCO UPF44 oil filters and Fram Paper Air Filters with a Z06 Air Filter Cover.

Was this analysis costly? Where did you go to get the kit to send in?
Thanks

It costs $20 to $30, depending if you want TBN done. Blackstone Laboratories will send you a free oil collection/mailer kit. It is triple packaged.
