I bought the GM extended warranty when I bought my car back in February of 2004. I am still in the original warranty period and am thinking I will not be needing the extended warranty since I will hopefully start making mods to the engine this fall. My question is, can I get my money back for the extended warranty, and if so, has anyone done this and can you tell me how to start the process of a refund?

I did it on my last 'vette - it was a 39-month lease, and I didn't want to be uncovered for the final three months, so I got the 12/12 and got the prorated refund when I gave the car back to the bank. There is an 800 number on the contract you can call to get the information.

Contact your dealer. But don't expect much of a refund. They are pro-rated.
