Default need driveway approach redone...

I bought a 01 coupe about 4 months ago and I barely get to drive it because my driveway approach is to steep. I have been putting down a ramp to get in and out, but I am tired of doing that. Does anyone know someone that could pour a new driveway approach? I have had a few companies come out and look at it and they always say it is too small of a job for them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I saw one that was done with the steel . They welded up a wedge the eidth of the driveway , drilled about 6 holes thru it and used large spikes to hold it in place.

I actually want someone to come out and jackhammer the concrete out and pour a new approach. The city said they would do it next year when it is in their budget, but I do not want to wait that long.

I had the same problem, but with the frame rail savers to help the car up the incline my problems went away. Believe it or not, it seems easier to pull in and out of the driveway now with it lowered on stock bolts than before. As far as backing in goes it doesnt work as good for me, but give it a try.

Go by your local home center and pick up a few illegals, they love to do concrete work.

backing in is worse... i have the same problem. I have been coming in at an angle, but even then, I'm totally abusing the black rubber strip in the front.

I'll be digging up the front 3rd of the driveway and resloping it in the fall.

Also angle it if you can... My vette scrapped stock ride height. I lowered it a little over an inch and can back in (slowly) with no problems.

just scrape it......tahts what I do.....blends in well with the track rash.

also if you dump the clutch upon entering the driveway it should lift the nose adequately to clear it...

You can buy an awful lot of those easily replaceable air dam strips for the cost of the new concrete. Plus put some frame savers on and you'll be good to go !!

If the city will do this for you, then I would really wait. Concrete work can get very expensive (especially if not done right the first time). I have ramps that work for me and I've been using them for 2 years now. Guess you just get used to them.

...or post over in the Southwest regional section of the Forum. Some of the folks in that section may be more likely able to provide you with some recommendations for contractors in your area.

Good luck.

our is bad enough that when we put the trailer hitch mounted bike rack on the van, that drags too... plus, the driveway is pretty cracked, so it's only a few hundred $$ to do it right.

Go to this site http://eliteengineeringusa.com They have C5 Frame Guards specifically made for steep inclines. It will save you a lot of trouble until they fix it next year.

Thanks everyone for all the ideas. I have tried them all and the only thing I can do is put ramps down which is a big pain in the butt. I bought frame savers and that wouldn't work and I have tried backing in. One of the estimates I had done was for $2000...I agreed to that but then we had those protests down here in Texas and he couldn't get anyone to work fearing deportation. Some crazy crap! Anyways thanks for the feedback and i look forward to any more ideas anyone has.

My wife surprised me by having our driveway ripped out and redone so I could get the Vette in. I never asked what it cost.
