slotted rotors, direction of turn
I recived some slotted rotors from another CF member. Having never had a set, I forgot to ask which direction the slots should go... My thinking is the slot should turn in the same direction so it is first grabbing air from the end of the slot that starts on the outside of the rotor, and works its way towards the middle.
The other way would be rotating so that the air strated from the inside and moved its way towards the outside edge of the rotor, but that doesn't seem as logical.
Sure would like to know... Can anyone anyone help me?
Thanks in advance for your reply,
Bob

the slots work from the outside-in so your passenger side slots would face this way (rear / front) got it? alot of brake websites say what sides too

I don't think the direction of the slots is important at all. What you need to be concerned about is the direction of the "vents" in the center portion of the rotor - that's what helps keep the rotors cool. BTW, my Wilwood rotors have a small arrow stamped into them showing which direction they should face.

Oh by the way, you're welcome for the rotors...
Its not the direction of the slots thats important, its the direction of the cooling fins around the outside that is important. I've seen the slots go both ways depending on the manufacturer.
The cooling fins should "exhaust" the hot air as the rotor turns not act like an intake.
This is a drivers side rear picture of your rotors:

Thank you for all of the help guys. I really appreciate it.
And by the way, I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Dan who was kind enough to give me the rotors. You know, you just meet the neatest people on the Corvette forum.
Best regards to all!
Bob
