Default Removing the Climate Control for Repair...

Hi all;

I want to remove my climate control (digital) to get it repaired (is dimming) by a forum member. Anyone have steps on how to remove the control?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You can also repair it yourself - it is a very easy fix.

I just did it myself. Works great now.
Just remember to hold those little do-nickies down with a tooth pick.

Hello. I want to thank those who shared input on how to do this repair. I actually did this last evening and my display is brighter than when I purchased the car 3 years ago. I was a little weary of doing this myself but it was not very difficult. Thanks!!

Good luck with the repair. The Vette Essentials site has excellent instructions for getting to the unit.

Man... I am so glad I stumbled across this this morning. I was just getting ready to go out to the garage to reassemble my Bose (turns out to be the signal processor problem -- gee, maybe that has loose resistors, too) radio and put the fascia and console back together. My HVAC display has been dim for about two months, and lately, the knuckle rapping hasn't made it brighter.

So now disassembly has to wait while I try to find my soldering pencil.
