I think it is in the same location as my 98......its on the center tunnel on the driver's side about a foot or so in front of the rear suspension. Some will tell you (like GM's service manual) that the exhaust needs to be loosened and moved.......that's BS if you have small enough hands and a way to get under the car. There are a couple of clips holding each side of the fuel lines and one bolt holding it to the tunnel.
Just make sure you releive the line pressure (it will leak a bit at first), then unclip, unbolt and reverse the procedure. Check for leaks (kind of important, here...) by starting and running for a few minutes and you are done. Its pretty easy if you have a way to get completely under the car...............good luck!!!

Not as long as you realize it will leak a bit at first. Pulling the fuse or the battery cables would probably be a good idea as far as grounding the process....there will be pressure in the line when you unclip it,,,,,,,,,,,do a search here in the forum for fuel pump and there will be tons of threads with perhaps more complete info than what I am able to give you....

i had to use a small plastic insert on my 2000 to un-snap the internal prongs on the front of the filter. some filters will have this piece, some won't. if you get one, save it.
