It just pries off with a screwdriver. It would be a good idea to wrap it in a rag or something soft so as to not scratch the finish on the wheels.

Use a flat tip screwdriver with a soft rage over the tip so you don't scratch it. Just slip the screwdriver in the gap and pry up..

Good Luck!

do you mean between the lug nuts? i.e. the hub cover? (aka center cap) do you mean the plastic lug covers themselves?

screwdriver for the center cap...
the lug covers themselves screw off (counter clock-wise)

Be careful when you screw those plastic covers back on and don't torque them too much or they will crack. Cosmetic cover only - they secure nothing.

I usually leave the center plastic piece on when I take off the lugnuts. With the wheel off the car, I tap the piece free from the inside. When I reinstall the wheels on the car, I leave the plastic piece off until I have the lugnuts torqued up to 100. Then it snaps in easily.
