Default c5 vs hemi dodge R/T CHALLENGER

have a 2000 6sp coupe with the only mod being a callaway "honker "air intake. WHAT WOULD THE RESULTS BE GOING UP AGAINST the dodge hemi R/T challenger, either auto or manual.Had an oppurtunity the other day but he didn't seem interested.

I assume you mean Charger, since the Challenger won't be out until the 09 model year? They only come in auto. They're heavy cars, and the regular hemi R/T has a major power/weight disadvantage to the C5. Now, if you see an SRT-8, be careful.

You must have saw a Charger and not a Challenger( they won't be out until fall of 07). The Charger does a high 13 sec. quarter mile with the best of drivers stock. Alot of weight with a four door family sedan. The new Challenger's are supposed to have a 6.1 liter Hemi and ALOT faster.

Unless you have a problem when driving the car, you should be looking at the Charger in your rear view mirror.

Yes i'm sure they are going to be heavy but I can't wait for the challenger to come back....It's a shame they won't do something about the weight but just seeing the concept car and how it resembles the 70's challenger I will definitely be adding one to the stable! And if they come out with a SRT model..... which i'm sure they will, that would be impressive.

I had one play with me on the way to South Carolina. We were following each other for about 30 miles, at first I did'nt do anything because I could not tell if he wanted to play or not. Then he pulled beside be with a little more force on the gas peddle. Within seconds he was trying to read my liscense plate. A few miles down the road he tried again going down a long hill, (I guess with the weight of the car he figured he had a better chance ) I hit 120 then let off and here he comes, I then hit 140 and then let off, well here he comes again, so I hit 160 and he was no where to be found. We had a good time and waved to each other as we got split up. By the way this was all on the back TRAILS, we were not street racing. Watch out for the animals on the trails though

I also have a few extra mice under the hood, it was not stock vs stock

Charger will be seeing your big butt!
Charger is a nice smooth riding car with decent power, but nothing to scare the Vette. Maybe a SRT8 might be alot different, but the 5.7 R/T I am sure you saw wouldnt keep up. Now the Challenger will be something to see. I am 3rd on the list with local Dodge dealer to purchase one. The scary part with them, is the second year they will be available with a 392 crate race hemi and convertible option....so i hear.

The chart shows it would be a close one to 60 but what about beyond? get him in a few turns and you got him beat.

I have both. An 03 C5 A4 and an 06 Daytona Charger. The vette is way faster. However, I might not be able to take an SRT8.

The charger has a wonderful engine/power but is a tank with wheels, I have taken 2 with my '04 Mustang GT with full Bolt-ons. My Stang runs about a 13.5, the Corvette should easily romp it.

I had a 300 SRT-8 mess with me once and that was all the educating he needed, wasn't close, but I am running a little more than a stock car.

I do hope this is correct - I'll be in line for one if it is

Been on the fence for the Z06 (C6) for months now (after a very bad experience with the C6), but what has held me back is the no option for a Vert. I think this is a MAJOR mistake on the part of Corvette - many believe that a Vette is not a Vette unless the top drops
