Default Mobil 1 extended life oil filters

Do they still make the regular Mobil 1 oil filters??? All I can find are the extended life ones. Are the better than the regular oil filters??? If not what should I buy off the shelf??

The synthetic media in the extended life has extra pleats and can hold 2x the grit...
they are designed to ensure proper filtration for extended drain intervals.

I'm a bit confused????? What's the big deal w/ not using the extended version??? If you can't find the older type, buy the extended ones and move on....

Are they more expensive than the older mobil 1 filters? I would think anyone would prefer the extended life filters when using synthetic oil with extended drain intervals. I sure do.

I use a K&N as well... change my oil by the DIC w/ Amsoil 5w40. If I have a track event and over 3000 miles on the oil I change it.

The K&N offers a little better flow to keep oil pressure up vs. the Amsoil extended drain filter.

Not sure about the new mobil 1 but what's wrong w/ "newer" and "better" technology.
