Default How do you remove the lower door panel from the top panel?

I just purchased two door panels on that unnamed site but all I need is the lower panels. How do you remove the lower door panels from the top black panel without damaging either panel?

I have been told you will destroy the panel .I have had my panels off because I taped off [easy] and sprayed my lower panel .

Sorry guys, I have to disagree, because I had mine off, separated them and put untra suede on mine. I had a thread up on how it was done a while ago.

Peace

Default panels

When I had to take mine apart I used a thin blade (like a knife),got it red hot with a flame then sliced the plastic notches that held the panels together.then used heat to mold the mating surfaces to where they would be flat against each other thus making it easier to glue them back together whe I was ready to reinstall.Hope it works for you.It did for me.

EatRice told me he countersunk tiny machine screws in the lower panel before prepping for paint so he could bolt them back together.

Another forum member used epoxy to glue them back together.

I'm going to look for a solution that'll allow me to install them back on the door as two distinct panels.
