calipers paint color question
My car is Navy Blue Metallic. I want to paint the calipers but not sure what color would look better with the navy blue. The rims are chrome (polished aluminum).
I have thought navy blue with "corvette" being silver. I 'm thinking red might really be to dramatic.
Any suggestions, and pics would be a great help in my decision. Also, Spray vs. brushed what is the perferred way to apply?
Thanks, Sandra

Navy with natural CORVETTE would look sweet IMO.
The other that would look cool is an entirely chrome plated caliper with CORVETTE in navy blue!
Maybe a chrome caliper bracket with a navy/natural caliper?

I have Lemans blue and considering painting mine as well. I think the stock color looks the best. Maybe you could change the tone a little or clear coat them so they pop better.

I think that the idea of painting the calipers is to show them off. Make a statement behind the chrome wheel. Try doing a different color...your car is Blue...give it some thought...

I don't 'get' the whole match the claipers to the body color thing.
You want the calipers to stand out, not blend in, so blue calipers to me are
...and othe eighth day god said all calipers will be RED!

jets, the only way i would get red calipers, is if i could afford the ones you have, otherwise, i'd pass (red calipers are WAY overdone on NUMEROUS makes and models).

Hipo aftermarket brakes always had RED calipers. So all the domestics, and and everyone else started to have factory RED calipers to copy the big boys.
Now The hot cars (Porsche, Ferarri etc. sport a choice of colors yellow, sliver. black...and red!
Aftermarket companies like Brembo, also now offer this choice now.
But to me to paint you calipers to match your body is an indication that there is already an 'overkill' of the body color in the interior, and engine compartment etc.
A liitle subtle enhancement is one thing, but...

Wow... some nice ideas. Right now I am leaning toward the silver with blue letters. But who knows by the weekend that might change again!
Maybe being a little different is a good thing to have the pop!

I did my coupe with red G2 caliper paint from Ebay ($30) I like it because it features a hardener compound that makes the paint resistant to virtually everything.
I'm also in the process of finishing my mom's vert. She used the duplicolor kit from Auto Zone. I didn't like it as much as the G2 because the paint was thinner and required more coats.
I much prefer brush on but get yourself a spare brush. With both kits the bristles on the stupid brushes (if you call bristles pinched between an aluminum tube a brush) would come off on the paint. i would have to ues tweezers to remove the bristle and repaint that area.
