Default radio interference noise

out of no where, when my radio is turned off/on/whatever, i can hear electrical interference coming from my speakers. if i do something like hit the brakes or turn on the headlights, it changes in pitch/tone, so i know its an electrical issue. does not change when i turn the stereo off. are there any common ground issues on the c5's that could cause this? thanks

Anyone? I have the EXACT same problem. Tapping the brakes changes the pitch.

I saw a post somewhere in here the other day, might have even been the sticky, which covered cleaning the ground terminal. There are a bunch of ground wires that go into a single terminal which is attached to the chassis. Apparently you unplug the wiring harness on this terminal and clean the contacts to fix random electrical problems. Bad grounds can cause radio interference I think. I also saw something today about alternators having bad diodes that cause this.

I guess I need to buy a chrome alternator.

if its whine that changes pitch with engine RPM; then it could be a bad alternator; though more likely poor grounds that have plagued the C5.
