seriously though... i was wondering the same thing. the guys over in the audio section say the entire system is very touchy when messed with. so.... i dont know. i hope someone here does.

There is an aftermarket adapter that lets you change out the speakers and install an amp while keeping the stock head unit.
If you're going to go thru all of that trouble in my opinion why not upgrade the head unit and save yourself a lot of aggravation.

I think the advertised wattage for the whole system is 252 watts. I think each amp in each door is rated at 100 watts, not sure. The back speakers are only for fill so don't expect much out of them.
I have a 2003 Vert and the wattage of the bose radio is 0. Took that piece of garbage out and sold it on Ebay. Put an Alpine in with a direct connect ipod.
