Sorry to bring back an old thread, however this just happened to my vert today at the car wash 
I need as much help as possible with this, can anyone post thier 2 cents, and give me some advice on any other way to tackle this project..suction cups and pulleys, I'm a pizza guy, not a mechanic, nor do i pretend to be. Any help would be great.

I'm not aware that Rhino Glue makes a tape. Make sure you are not referring to something made by Liquid Nails. It's a totally different kind of glue. See my initial posting and the Rhino Glue website referenced there.

hobby shop glue
I did the same thing to my vert about 2 yrs. ago and its still holding !!
I got the glue from the hoby shop its a cyranoacrylate glue for models and it works great !!! you can't tell it was ever done.
As a matter of fact I won a first place trophy with my car that same summer in a all vette car show !

I wish that somebody knew how to do this in the NY metro area for me. I have a '95 Firebird where the top of the rear window glass is separated from the top, I'm sure that the rest of the glass is not far behind. Everybody just wants to change tops and charge an arm and a leg.

Wow, oldie here.
My repair is solid as a rock as well.
I believe cleaning of the surfaces is key.
Just stuff a few comforters in the package tray to hold the window while it is setting.

I saw this post back when it was first posted. My parent's Mustang was having the same problem ... ordered the glue suggested Rhino Glue, did a similar repair job on their Mustang about 6 months ago, and it has been fine since then.

The car passed the car wash test with flying colors. I must say however that the glue is hard to handle and bonds to anything & everything. It even made a mess out of the rear glass which I'm hoping to be able to clean with some "OOPS" or "GOO GONE", we shall see.
