Take the seat out and check to make sure the wire isn't frayed, split, or damaged. Only takes about 2 minutes to remove the seat. While it's out, spray electrical contact cleaner in the seatbelt catch. Also a good time to clean out from under the seat while it's out.

Mine just started staying on today. I've tried buckling/unbuckling, wiggled the wire around under the seat as best as I could get my hands on it. So far the belt light seems to be on steady.
Does anyone know for sure- If I just disconnect the wire will the light default to OFF or ON?
If it defaults to ON with an open circuit (which means I actually have to fix something since I don't want the light on all the time) is the switch in the latch mechanism the most likely cause? I'll probably try some contact cleaner on that otherwise may have to replace the belt latch. Any suggestion on best source (new or used). Forum vendor? fleabay?
Or maybe a bent paperclip stuck in the proper electrical connector to complete the circuit would be the best option? I had to fix a chevy clutch switch that way once!
